## Overview

Velari Atelier (velari.ae) creates premium women's attire in the UAE, starting with embroidered mukhawara fabrics sold as fixed 3 m cuts, priced in AED. Every piece is given a name, never a code. The brand takes its spirit from Velaris, the City of Starlight: a private sanctuary, found by those who know where to look. Layouts feel like an evening at a private atelier: calm, centred, mostly ivory, with plum as the voice and a single four-point star.

- One masterbrand: Velari Atelier (Velari on second mention; Arabic فيلاري أتيليه). Four marks: primary wordmark (default), monogram, emblem, round icons.
- Bilingual English and Arabic (Amiri, right to left, mirrored layouts, unchanged logo).
- Core colours and typefaces come from the approved guidelines (Edition 01 · 2026). Scales, tints and component values are proposed extensions from the identity site.

## Colors

- Primary — Deep Plum (#420F29): the voice. Logo, headings, body text, buttons, signature backgrounds. ≈ 30%.
- Neutral — Warm Ivory (#F6F1E9): the base for pages, packaging and space. ≈ 46%.
- Evening — Midnight Navy (#141B35): occasions, the gift box, invitations. ≈ 12%. Use it instead of black.
- Secondary — Velvet Mauve (#754F66): emblem ground, hang tags, secondary panels; muted text on ivory (6.09:1). ≈ 6%.
- Tertiary — Dusty Mauve (#936A7E): the swish; small accents and decorative stars, large type at most (4.06:1 on ivory). ≈ 6%.
- Safe text pairs: Plum/Ivory 14.02:1, Ivory/Navy 15.09:1, Velvet on Ivory 6.09:1. Never Plum on Navy (1.08:1) or Plum on Velvet (2.30:1).
- Derived tints (80–10%, mixed toward ivory) are for digital use only. Print CMYK and Pantone values are proposed; confirm from a printed proof.
- The palette has no status colours; communicate state with words.

## Typography

- Cinzel (Regular 400) for headings, labels, buttons and the ATELIER descriptor: uppercase, tracked 0.12em for titles and 0.24em for labels.
- Cormorant Garamond for text: Medium 500 body at 20px, leading 1.6, max 68 characters; Light 300 for display titles; Italic for piece names and emphasis; SemiBold 600 for inline emphasis and table heads. Sentence case in Cormorant headings.
- Amiri for Arabic: 22–24px body, leading 1.8, never letter-spaced (suggested in the guidelines; confirm before print).
- The VELARI name is custom lettering: always place the logo file. Never use Cinzel Decorative in brand layouts; never track Cormorant or Amiri.

## Layout

- 8px rhythm on the scale 4, 8, 12, 16, 24, 32, 48, 64, 96, 128: 24 between related items, 48 between groups, 96 between sections.
- Grid: 12 columns from 900px (24px gutter and 64px margins from 1280px; 20px / 48px below), 8 columns at 560–899px, 4 columns below 560px (22px margins). Max content 1200px.
- Centre the ceremony: logos and piece names on a central axis. At least half of every layout is ivory or open ground. In print, the star height X is the base margin.

## Elevation & Depth

- Flat. Depth comes from grounds (ivory, ivory-deep, plum, navy), not shadows. Fine plum rules (rgba(66,15,41,.16)) replace boxes.
- Dark layouts may carry the supplied starfield, bleeding off one edge, never behind body text.

## Shapes

- Square corners (0) or 2px. `rounded.arch` (999px) applies to the top corners only (CSS `999px 999px 0 0`): it echoes the emblem on hang tags and frames for piece photographs and invitations. `rounded.full` (a circle, CSS 50%) only for the supplied icons.
- The four-point star (long axis vertical) is the signature shape: one large star per view; never rotated, redrawn or given effects.
- Interface icons: 24px grid, 1.4px stroke, round caps and joins, never filled.

## Components

- Buttons — primary: Deep Plum with an ivory Cinzel label and 1px plum border; secondary: transparent (shown on the ivory surface) with a 1px plum outline; light: ivory on dark grounds. One primary per view; labels are quiet invitations (Book an appointment, Discover the piece).
- Inputs — ivory ground, 1px strong plum line, Cormorant text.
- Cards — ivory-deep ground, 28px padding; line variant (transparent with a 1px `line` border) and dark (plum) variant.
- Rules and borders — `line` rgba(66,15,41,.16) by default, `line-strong` rgba(66,15,41,.32) for inputs; focus in Velvet Mauve.
- Piece label — name in Cormorant Italic, meta in the Cinzel label style (3 M CUT · AED 1,450); bilingual name where space allows (Najma · نجمة).
- Hang tag — emblem, ivory on Velvet Mauve, 55 × 95 mm arched top, 450 gsm uncoated, plum cord.

## Do's and Don'ts

- Do keep Deep Plum on Warm Ivory as the default, and the ivory logo on dark grounds.
- Do name every piece and give price as AED 1,450 with the 3 m cut.
- Do mirror layouts for Arabic and keep the logo unchanged.
- Do place the supplied logo, starfield and star files.
- Don't use colours outside the palette (no gold), gradients, shadows or glows.
- Don't retype, stretch, rotate or recolour the logo, or move its star; don't place it on busy imagery.
- Don't use sale, discount or urgency language, exclamation marks, or more than one emoji (✦ or 🤍).
- Don't show stock codes, stock photography or AI-generated models.

## Iteration Guide

1. Start from Warm Ivory and Deep Plum; add navy or the mauves only where the moment asks.
2. Reference components by their `components:` names and use these tokens; never invent colours, sizes or radii.
3. Check text pairs against the safe contrast pairs, then check Arabic (RTL).
